This is my first digital draft of my music magazine front cover. I have found a good layout which is not too busy but included plenty of information and pictures without leaving too many blank spaces. I have also chosen a good colour scheme which is appealing to the target demographic and stands out well making the text and pictures easy to see. I based this draft off my second drawn draft, as the layout is good and the text stands out better, leaving more space for images and quotes. To improve in my second draft, I will add some secondary images to the bottom of the page and add some quotes from featured articles to fill in some of the gaps in the page.

Magazine Cover - First Draft
This is my first digital draft of my music magazine front cover. I have found a good layout which is not too busy but included plenty of information and pictures without leaving too many blank spaces. I have also chosen a good colour scheme which is appealing to the target demographic and stands out well making the text and pictures easy to see. I based this draft off my second drawn draft, as the layout is good and the text stands out better, leaving more space for images and quotes. To improve in my second draft, I will add some secondary images to the bottom of the page and add some quotes from featured articles to fill in some of the gaps in the page.

Secondary Images for Front Cover (2)
These are some more secondary image for my front cover, which I took at a local concert. I needed another secondary image so that all my images were not the same. However I only used one of the images as I only needed one to fill a space. I chose the image which had no obstructions and conveyed the iconography of the genre of my magazine as it includes instruments from the music genre and performers of the same age as my target audience, which is appealing to them.
Secondary Images for Front Cover
These are images that I took at a rock concert. The concert contained a band which perfectly fit the genre of the magazine, and I took some photos which would match the genre and ideology of my magazine. I only used a couple of the images on my front cover, and I chose these images based on quality and how interesting they were, as they needed to stand out to the audience.
This was my second drawn draft for my magazine cover. I added a banner at the top of the page saying "Exclusive news, reviews and interviews!" to attract the audience with the contents of the magazine. I then added A masthead with a background to make the text stand out from the background. On the left side of the page i added two featured articles showing the audience some of the contents of the magazine, which will attract the target audience as the articles are aimed at them. The middle of the page is taken up with a main image with the name of the main article and a quote from it which makes the reader want to see the article. This main article quote is in front of the main image in bold to make it stand out and attract the audience to it, as this will be one of the selling points of the magazine. In the bottom right corner I added a puff with details of a competition included in the magazine, which also attracts the audience with a prize appropriate to the genre and attractive to the target demographic. In the bottom left corner I added 3 secondary images with quotes from the accompanying article from inside the magazine. This also gives the reader an indication of what is included in the magazine, and will attract the target audience. The bottom of the magazine is finished off with a footer, which includes the names of 2 more articles. Again, this helps the audience decide if the magazine is attractive to them or not, and will help the audience decide if it is targeted at them or not. I think that this draft is better than the first as the main article does not take up as much room on the page, leaving more room for other things such as quotes from featured articles or more secondary images.

This was my first drawn draft for my front cover of my rock magazine "Hysteria". I chose to have a banner at the top to attract the audience by giving an overview of the contents with "News, Reviews and Interviews". Underneath this I added the masthead just above the main image. Across the main image I added the main headline in a banner spreading along the width of the page to make it stand out. Underneath this I placed two secondary images with featured articles. I also added a puff with information about more contents of the magazine. The puff is a star shape so that it stands out from the rest of the page. At the bottom of the page I added a footer with some additional featured articles and bands popular with this genre of music to attract the readers in the target audience.
